The Export-Import Bank of Korea announced Monday it has appointed Lee Dong-hoon, head of its risk management division, as a new standing director. Lee, born in 1969, graduated from Seondeok High School and Korea University and has held a range of senior posts at the bank, including head of risk management, head of inter-Korean cooperation, planning chief, head of the capital markets unit and head of public relations — making him a specialist in planning, funding and risk. In his new role, he will oversee government-entrusted funds covering economic cooperation and inter-Korean cooperation, risk management, and digital transformation. Under the Export-Import Bank of Korea Act, the finance minister appoints and dismisses standing directors on the recommendation of the bank's president. Lee's term began June 8.
