CJ Olive Networks said Tuesday it ran an AI education volunteer program for elementary school students in partnership with the Hyochang Community Welfare Center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The program, titled "Making AI My Voice Animation," gave students hands-on experience with artificial intelligence technology.

The program targeted about 20 elementary school students with limited exposure to the latest digital technology. It was designed to help students build experience as content creators — producing their own material in a digital environment using cutting-edge AI — and to strengthen their digital literacy skills.

CJ Olive Networks employees paired with participating students and guided them through creating personalized "AI animation cards."

Students recorded self-introduction scripts in their own voices, then used the generative AI features of a design program to produce animated self-introduction videos that moved in sync with the audio. Students also experienced a feature in which they selected a character of their choice and AI automatically generated natural lip movements and gestures to match.

Students uploaded the finished animations to YouTube and embedded the links into NFC-based self-introduction cards — effectively a one-of-a-kind digital business card that lets them introduce themselves anywhere, anytime. When a smartphone is tapped against the card, the student's AI character appears on screen and delivers a greeting.

CJ Olive Networks employees drew on their IT expertise to serve as technical mentors, explaining AI features in terms accessible to students and walking them through the full process — from video data processing to NFC integration.
