The transition committee for Park Chan-dae, mayor-elect of Incheon, will begin operations Wednesday.

Park's campaign announced the committee's launch and released the full list of members Tuesday.

According to the camp, the 20-member panel draws on lawmakers, professors, former public officials and civic society experts chosen for their field expertise and policy capabilities.

Maeng Seong-gyu, a three-term Assembly member representing Incheon's Namdong-gap district who previously chaired the Land and Infrastructure Committee, has been named transition committee chair.

Six first-term lawmakers will lead the committee's subcommittees and oversee the policy handover process: Kim Nam-jun (Incheon Gyeyang-eul), No Jong-myeon (Incheon Bupyeong-gap), Mo Gyeong-jong (Incheon Geomdan), Park Seon-won (Incheon Bupyeong-eul), Lee Yong-u (Incheon Seohaegu-eul) and Lee Hun-gi (Incheon Namdong-eul).

Song Hyeon-seok, former policy chief to the floor leader, has been appointed vice chair, and Nam Yeong-hui, current district chair for Dong-gu and Michuhol-eul, will serve as a standing member.

Academic members include Baek Jin of Seoul National University, Oh Tae-hyeon of KAIST, Nam Dae-sik of Inha University, Ryu Seong-min of Kyonggi University and Jeong Se-eun of Chungnam National University.

Former public officials appointed to the committee include Park In-seo, former Incheon deputy mayor for political affairs; Lee Jae-hyeon, former Seo-gu district chief; Lee Hui-jeong, former vice president of Incheon International Airport; and Yun Dae-gi, former auditor of Incheon International Airport.

The panel also includes Jang Jeong-gu, head of the Climate and Life Policy Research Institute, representing the civic sector, and Kim Gyeong-a, a certified practitioner of pansori — designated National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 5 — representing the arts community.

Kim Min-bae, a former Inha University professor who previously served as president of the Incheon Development Institute, has been named advisory chair of the transition committee.

The committee will operate for 20 days at G-Tower in Songdo until Park's official inauguration on July 1. It will receive briefings from relevant city bureaus and departments by subcommittee, draw up a roadmap for implementing the mayor-elect's campaign pledges, and review the status of requests for central government budget allocations for next year as well as legislation related to Incheon.

The committee will also conduct a budget review in preparation for launching a 100-day livelihood recovery project.

Separately from the transition committee's work, Park plans to hold public listening sessions and roundtable meetings with citizens.
