Nvidia CEO makes his first variety show appearance on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' on Wednesday
From K-culture fandom to AI insights, Huang captivates viewers ahead of broadcast
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's appearance on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" — his first variety talk show — is generating wide buzz online ahead of the broadcast.
tvN released preview clips Sunday through the show's official social media channels, teasing Huang's wide-ranging appearance, which spans insights on the AI era and an unmistakable love for K-culture.
Earlier footage showing Huang dancing to "Golden," the original soundtrack from the Netflix animated series "KPop Demon Hunters," and confessing his admiration for K-pop and singer Hwasa had already surpassed 11 million combined online views within two days of being posted.
In the newly released preview, Huang drew further attention by name-dropping Hwasa's latest tracks "So Cute" and "Good Goodbye," declaring, "I love Hwasa."
Huang also got laughs when the conversation turned to a samgyeopsal — grilled pork belly — party he had attended the day before filming with SK Corp Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Corp Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Naver founder Lee Hae-jin. "I just really love eating," he said.
Host Yoo Jae-suk then posed a multiple-choice question: of Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Euisun Chung and SK Corp Chairman Chey Tae-won, who is Huang's closest friend? "So easy," Huang replied — leaving viewers in suspense over his answer.
Huang's words of advice for younger generations also drew attention. Asked in the preview whether success requires hardship, he said, "To be great, you have to suffer," adding, "As long as you don't break, whatever future comes, you will succeed."
The show's production team said the episode would blend "Jensen Huang's distinctive energy, candor and unpredictable humor with the chemistry he shares with host Yoo Jae-suk," promising that the full broadcast would deliver even more entertainment and stories than the previews have suggested.
It marks the first time Huang — founder of Nvidia, the world's largest company by market cap and a driving force behind the generative AI revolution — has appeared on a variety entertainment program anywhere in the world. "You Quiz on the Block" airs Wednesday at 8:45 p.m.
