Gangwon Hanwoo Cooperative Joint Business Corporation, known as Gangwon Hanwoo, ranked first in the livestock sector and fifth overall in a comprehensive management evaluation of agricultural cooperative joint business corporations nationwide, earning an "excellent" rating.

The evaluation assessed business performance, financial condition, profit and loss, assets and equity across all National Agricultural Cooperative Federation joint business corporations in the country.

Starting this year, results are classified into three tiers — excellent (70 points or above), average (50 points or above) and insufficient (below 50 points) — with assessments covering sustainability, stability, profitability, activity, productivity and growth.

Gangwon Hanwoo claimed the top spot in the livestock sector for the second consecutive year and placed fifth overall among 127 cooperative joint business corporations nationwide.

Since its founding in 2016, the corporation has operated a quality management system covering the entire production, retail and sales process, and has led a hanwoo brand project representing Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.

The corporation has also received the presidential award at the livestock brand competition three times and earned national premium brand certification.

Gangwon Hanwoo has been expanding its domestic retail network while also pursuing overseas markets. In the second half of last year, it exported to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and has continued local promotional activities and efforts to develop new business partners there.

"This result reflects the efforts of participating farms and related organizations," a Gangwon Hanwoo official said. "We plan to keep focusing on quality management and brand development going forward."
