Citizen panel to deliberate after selecting final agenda items

The Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth announced Monday it is accepting public submissions on climate-related agenda items through the Climate Citizens' Assembly's dedicated online platform.

The commission set up the platform to allow anyone to propose climate-related topics freely. Previously submitted proposals can also be viewed on the site.

The platform operates on a permanent basis. Submitted agenda items will go through a review and deliberation process by a citizen participation panel before being used to inform government policy recommendations.

The commission will hold a raffle among 100 participants who submit agenda proposals through the site by June 30, with prizes awarded to the winners. Submissions require identity verification through the Climate Citizens' Assembly agenda proposal website.

Lee Chang-hoon, the commission's civilian co-chair, said "responding to the climate crisis is a process that all citizens must build together," and urged broad participation. "We ask for your attention and involvement so that everyday experiences and ideas can translate into policy," he said.
