The North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education said Monday it will conduct a "corruption risk assessment for public officials" through June 17, aimed at proactively identifying and addressing corruption vulnerabilities and fostering a culture of integrity within the organization.

The assessment covers three areas: an organizational environment corruption risk index evaluating corruption risk factors across the education office as a whole; a work environment corruption risk index assessing job-specific risk factors by department head position at the main office; and an individual integrity index measuring each official's personal level of integrity and self-improvement efforts.

Results from the individual integrity index will be shared only with the assessed officials themselves to encourage self-directed improvement. For senior officials, the results will also feed into personnel records, including performance evaluations, to strengthen accountability.

The education office plans to systematically analyze the assessment findings to identify and address latent corruption risks within the organization, while also using the data as a foundation for developing integrity policies and improving related systems.

Weaknesses and vulnerabilities identified during the assessment will be subject to ongoing monitoring and remediation, with the goal of establishing a fair and transparent organizational culture and building greater public trust in the province's education administration.

"Through this corruption risk assessment, we will strengthen the integrity awareness of senior officials, systematically manage corruption risk factors within the organization, and work toward building a public service that the people can trust," said Im Jong-sik, superintendent of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education.
