Park Bom, a member of K-pop group 2NE1, has parted ways with her agency after eight years together.
Denation Entertainment announced Friday on its official social media that it and Park Bom had mutually agreed to terminate her exclusive contract after sufficient discussion.
The agency said Park Bom had recently been focusing on her health and rest, and that the decision was made out of respect for the artist's well-being and the direction of her future activities.
It added that Park Bom had carried out meaningful work as a solo artist during their time together, and expressed deep gratitude for the time they shared and the effort she had shown.
"Although the exclusive contract has ended, we sincerely wish Park Bom a healthy path forward and a new beginning," the agency said.
Park Bom suspended her activities in August last year for health reasons. She later drew concern from fans with a series of unexpected statements on social media, including claims of a romantic relationship with Lee Min-ho and allegations that fellow 2NE1 member Sandara Park was involved in drug use.
