Shinhan Financial Group said Friday that its employees carried out volunteer work (pictured) in wildfire-damaged areas to mark World Environment Day. More than 40 group employees took part in the activity on May 30 at "Shinhan SOL Bangul Forest," located in Yonggak-ri, Iljik-myeon, Andong, North Gyeongsang Province.
After receiving on-site education about the extent of wildfire damage and the importance of forest restoration, participants spread fertilizer and removed weeds to support tree growth within the reforestation site. They also planted flowering plants and created garden beds at a senior center in a nearby village.
Shinhan Financial is carrying out the "Shinhan SOL Bangul Forest" project, which aims to plant approximately 20,000 trees by 2028 in the wildfire-affected areas of Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, in line with the government's "National Tree Planting" policy.
