Kyungpook National University announced Thursday it signed an MOU with the Daegu city government's Shanghai office to establish a Global International Center for Enrollment (GIC-E) in Shanghai, aimed at recruiting high-quality international students and advancing the region's internationalization efforts.

The agreement forms part of the Glocal University 30 project.

Under the MOU, the university will operate the GIC-E within the Daegu Shanghai office and tap into local networks through ongoing coordination with the office. The center will run tailored programs for prospective students and their parents, providing university promotional materials and admissions information to strengthen the foundation for international student recruitment.

"Through this partnership, we will not only attract talented students but also strengthen the internationalization capacity of both the region and the university, and build a sustainable global cooperation framework," said Choi Hee-kyung, head of Kyungpook National University's Office of International Affairs.
