Used-car platform HeyDealer is hosting a customer participation event built around its AI vehicle diagnosis solution. Participants compare AI-analyzed images of two vehicles to identify the one with no repair history, and those who answer correctly enter a draw to purchase a certified used car for 1 million won ($654).

HeyDealer announced Friday it will run the "Cha-geolgo Nunssaum" event through June 30 to celebrate the launch of its AI vehicle diagnosis solution "HeyDealer eye."

The event is designed to let customers experience HeyDealer eye's vehicle diagnosis features firsthand. It runs in two formats: an online event through the HeyDealer app and offline experience events at locations across major cities nationwide.

Participants are shown images of two vehicles of the same model and must identify which one has no repair history. AI-analyzed images highlighting each vehicle's condition and signs of past repairs are provided as hints. The core idea is to present vehicle condition data — difficult to detect with the naked eye — in a more intuitive way.

HeyDealer framed the event concept as a "staring contest" between its AI vehicle diagnosis solution and the human eye over spotting repair traces. The format turns the accident and repair history check — the detail used-car buyers worry about most — into a game.

Participants who answer correctly enter a draw for the chance to purchase one of six HeyDealer-certified used cars for 1 million won ($654) each. The vehicles on offer are a Porsche 718 Boxster, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class, a BMW 3 Series, a Genesis GV70, a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Hyundai Sonata.

Entry into the Porsche 718 Boxster draw is open only to offline event participants, while the remaining five models can be entered through the online event on the HeyDealer app. All six vehicles have a clean accident record, with an average mileage of approximately 14,000 kilometers.

The offline events run through June 29 at six venues across five cities — Seoul, Hanam, Uiwang, Gwangju and Busan. Starting with the opening event at "Not Bad Coffee" in Seoul's Hannam-dong on June 12, a sculpture shaped like the HeyDealer eye logo will be installed at each venue.

Inside the sculpture, capsules containing keyrings and HeyDealer certified used-car purchase discount coupons will be available. The coupons are valued at 100,000 won ($65), 500,000 won ($327) and 2 million won ($1,307). Once all capsules are claimed, a QR code hidden inside the sculpture — linking to the Porsche 718 Boxster draw entry — will be revealed. Details on the offline events are available on HeyDealer's official Instagram account.

"This event was designed so consumers can experience HeyDealer eye in an easy and enjoyable way," a HeyDealer official said. "We plan to continue rolling out a range of services and campaigns to build a used-car marketplace where customers can check vehicle information for themselves and trade with confidence."

HeyDealer eye is a vehicle diagnosis solution that makes AI-analyzed images of a car's condition and repair traces available within the platform's listing information. HeyDealer said the tool is intended to help used-car buyers more easily compare and evaluate vehicle details.
