People Power Party candidate Choi Jae-hoon won reelection as Dalseong-gun county chief in Daegu in the June 3 nationwide local elections.

In a victory statement Thursday, Choi said he viewed the result as a mandate from residents for uninterrupted development and the completion of Dalseong's future. "I am grateful to the residents of Dalseong-gun for entrusting me with the county administration again," he said.

He added that Dalseong now stands at a historic turning point to grow into a hub for South Korea's future industries. "The path we must take together is to build a city where young talent gathers, businesses invest, children can pursue their dreams and the elderly can live happily — a city where everyone wants to live and stay," he said.

Choi pledged to devote all his energy to ensuring residents feel real change in their daily lives. "I will be a county chief judged not by words but by action, not by promises but by results," he said. "I will lead Dalseong's development without interruption."
