Leaders lay flowers and offer incense to honor fallen patriots; chamber chief vows to lead city's growth as maritime capital
The leadership of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry joined local business figures Thursday morning at the Chunghoontap war memorial in Jungang Park, ahead of the 71st Memorial Day.
Chamber Chairman Yang Jae-saeng, along with Vice Chairmen Kang Dong-seok, Yun Seong-deok, Choi Sam-seop, Park Sa-ik, Lee O-seon and Kim Un-seok, and auditors Kim Yeong-deuk and Kwon Gi-jae, laid flowers and offered incense to honor fallen soldiers and patriots. The group then visited the memorial hall where the names of the fallen are enshrined.
Before the ceremony, Yang signed the guestbook, writing that the business community would "deeply engrave the noble sacrifice of the patriots in our hearts and take the lead in driving a greater leap forward for Busan as the maritime capital." He also expressed gratitude and respect to national merit holders and their families.
