The Seoul mayoral race — the most fiercely contested in the June 3 local elections — has come down to a razor-thin margin, with Democratic Party of Korea candidate Jung Won-oh and People Power Party candidate Oh Se-hoon separated by just 0.1 percentage point.
With 93.18 percent of ballots counted as of 7:07 a.m. Thursday, Jung led with 48.69 percent against Oh's 48.59 percent, according to the National Election Commission.
The gap between the two candidates had stretched to as wide as 30 percentage points early in the count, but Oh mounted a fierce comeback to close the difference.
