The district is running five buses for national merit recipients and bereaved families, with group travel insurance and snacks provided for a comfortable visit.

[The Herald Business = Senior Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk District Office (district mayor Lee Soon-hee) in Seoul said it will provide group transportation to the Seoul National Cemetery for national merit recipients and their bereaved families who have dedicated themselves to the nation, in honor of the Month of National Patriots and Veterans in June and the 71st Memorial Day.

The support is intended to honor the sacrifice of fallen heroes and ease the burden of travel for their families, ensuring they receive meaningful recognition.

Applications can be submitted through the Gangbuk chapter of the Association of Bereaved Families of War Dead, the Gangbuk chapter of the War Widows' Association, or by phone or in person at the district office's welfare policy division. Additional registrations will be accepted through the morning of June 5.

The district plans to operate a total of five 45-seat buses — two from the Seoul Regional Veterans Affairs Office and three from the district office — to transport visitors to the cemetery.

In addition, the district will enroll all participating family members in group travel insurance and provide dosirak and rice cake snacks, ensuring a comfortable and safe visit.
