The Jungnang-gu Small Business Association will hold a two-day small business festival called "Gachisaljang" at Myeongmok Station Plaza on Saturday and Sunday.

The event was organized through the Seoul Metropolitan Government's 2026 grant program supporting small business associations in autonomous districts. It aims to give local small business owners a platform to promote and sell their products and services while fostering exchanges between residents and merchants to revitalize the local commercial district.

Held under the theme "A neighborhood festival that shares value and revives the local economy," the event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. A total of 40 booths will participate, covering a wide range of sectors — social solidarity economy, food, fashion and garment manufacturing, lifestyle services, hands-on experiences and merchandise.

Alongside the sales and exhibition booths, the festival will feature stage performances, on-site events and prize draws. Visitors can also explore Jungnang-gu's distinctive industries and local resources, including fashion and garment products and regional food offerings. Social enterprises and cooperatives will also take part, creating a space for small business owners and residents to connect and share the spirit of mutual growth.

Jungnang-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said small business owners are "the backbone of the local economy and the key players who make up neighborhood commercial districts," adding that he hopes the Gachisaljang festival will "spread the word about the outstanding products and services of Jungnang-gu's small businesses and serve as an opportunity for residents' interest and spending to translate into renewed vitality for the local commercial district."
