Broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo has made clear he has no intention of handing over any of his programs to younger freelance announcers.
On Wednesday's episode of JTBC's "Tokpawon 25si," announcer-turned-broadcasters Kim Dae-ho and Jo Jeong-sik appeared as guests.
Welcoming the two juniors, who are both working as freelance announcers, Jeon reflected on his early days, saying he had followed a path blazed by his sunbae Kim Seong-ju but felt lonely doing it alone.
During the episode, cast member Lee Chan-won asked Jeon whether, given how many programs he was hosting, he had any thought of sharing some with his juniors.
Jeon shot back without hesitation: "Not even a little," drawing laughter from the cast.
He went on to explain his thinking. "If you start giving away programs, the kids get soft," he said. "Everyone has their own lane." Jeon also drew another laugh when he described Kim Dae-ho as "the hermit of the announcer world."
