BYD announced Thursday that it has been named an official partner of the 33rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders' Summit, set to be held in Shenzhen, China, on Nov. 18-19.

The summit will deploy vehicles from BYD's premium brands — Denza, Yangwang and Fangchengbao — as well as key models from BYD's Dynasty and Ocean series as official protocol vehicles. The fleet will support the movement of delegations from participating economies, contribute to APEC's low-carbon goals and showcase the technological capabilities of China's new-energy vehicle industry on the world stage.

BYD, the world's largest new-energy vehicle manufacturer, has built its identity around a philosophy of technology-driven innovation, rolling out a series of industry-leading advances. These include its second-generation Blade Battery, flash-charging technology, the DiSus intelligent body control system and the e⁴ platform.

BYD sold more than 4.6 million new-energy vehicles in 2025, retaining its position as the world's top seller in the segment. Overseas sales for the same period exceeded 1.04 million units, a 145 percent increase from the previous year. In the first nine months of 2026, cumulative sales surpassed 3.13 million units, with overseas sales topping 1.33 million.

Meanwhile, BYD recently joined the UN Global Compact. Founded in 2000, the UNGC is an international organization that supports sustainable business practices. It helps companies implement 10 core principles in their operations and strategy, and encourages participation in advancing the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. More than 25,000 companies from over 160 countries are currently members.
