Nowon-gu in Seoul announced Thursday that it has completed construction of Buramsan Solmaru Park and will open it to residents at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday.

The site, at 363-12 Junggye-dong near the foot of Buramsan, offers scenic views and easy access to the Junggye-dong hagwon district, but had long been left in a deteriorated state.

In response, the district began preparing the park in 2023 under the name "Buramsan Neighborhood Park (Gajaeul District) Development Project."

After years of effort, the roughly 15,000-square-meter site has been developed with landscaping and facilities that set it apart from other parks.

The park's main spaces include a pine grove, a hydrangea garden, a lawn plaza, and a scenic waterfall with a stream. The layout maximizes openness across the full site while weaving together trees, flowers, water and grass.

The name Buramsan Solmaru Park was chosen through a public vote. Ahead of the official opening, a community tree-planting event called "Forest of the Heart" was held Oct. 28, with residents and children participating.

Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o said the district would nurture the park together with residents, calling it "a starting point from which we can enjoy the full benefits of nature in our daily lives and imagine an even more beautiful city."
