A total of 604 candidates are set to pass the second architect licensing examination of 2026, with a pass rate of 8.9%.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Thursday it will publish the list of prospective passers on its website at 9 a.m. Friday.

The exam drew 6,781 candidates — 673 fewer than the previous sitting — and the number of prospective passers fell by 91 to 604. The pass rate of 8.9% was slightly below the 9.3% recorded in the previous round.

Prospective passers must submit supporting documents, including a career certificate, to the Korea Institute of Registered Architects either in person or by registered mail by 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Final results will be announced Dec. 29 after a review of career and other submitted documents. Subject-by-subject scores from this sitting will be available on the institute's website from Friday through Nov. 20.

Meanwhile, the five most recent sittings had drawn between 7,400 and 7,700 candidates, but this round saw that figure drop to the 6,000 range. Pass rates over recent sittings were 7.9% in the second round of 2024, 8.1% in the first round of 2025, 6.8% in the second round of 2025, and 9.3% in the first round of 2026.
