The North Gyeongsang Culture and Tourism Corporation is working to spread the outcomes of the 2025 Gyeongju APEC Summit across North Gyeongsang Province and explore ways to boost tourism in the central inland region.

The corporation held a seminar Wednesday at MVS Mungyeong Virtual Studio — the former KGM Mungyeong factory — to discuss strategies for revitalizing tourism in the central inland region by building on the APEC summit's legacy. About 100 people attended, including officials from North Gyeongsang Province, Mungyeong city, tourism companies and related organizations.

At the seminar, Kyungpook National University Professor Song Seop-gyu proposed developing extended-stay tourism products that link the tourism resources of Mungyeong and Sangju into a single regional zone.

Dongguk University Professor Choe Jeong-ja presented strategies for an APEC legacy tour and a food tour, a broader tourism network centered on Gyeongju, and the operation of regional tour buses.

Lee Seok-hui, director of the Policy Planning Research Institute, proposed developing a joint North Gyeongsang–North Jeolla Province tourism brand and wide-area tourism routes drawing on the historical legacy of Gyeon Hwon. Jeong Hun-jin, a professor at Gyeonguk National University, introduced a plan to establish a K-hallyu support center on the former KGM factory site.

North Gyeongsang Culture and Tourism Corporation President Kim Nam-il said the corporation would work to ensure that "the APEC outcomes spread beyond Gyeongju to all of North Gyeongsang Province, and that new tourism content and project opportunities are created through inter-regional cooperation."
