Suseong University's nursing department held its 56th Nightingale Pledge Ceremony on Friday at the Gemma Hall auditorium.

University President Kim Seon-sun, College of Nursing Dean Lee Hye-gyeong, Semyeong General Hospital Head Nurse An Myeong-hui and Aura Beauty Lounge Director Ryu Jeong-seon were among the officials who attended.

A total of 208 second-year nursing students pledged to "respect human life as professional nurses and dedicate themselves to the well-being of patients in their care," following the lead of fourth-year student Jeong Yu-jin, who was named the 56th Nightingale representative.

In congratulatory remarks, President Kim encouraged the students to "nurture great ambitions so that, like Nightingale — who worked to improve difficult healthcare conditions — you can grow into capable healthcare professionals."
