Kibo signs MOU with Korea Fire Industry Technology Institute
Fire safety tech firms added to 'Safety Infrastructure Guarantee' program
Enhanced financial support includes preferential guarantee ratios, fee reductions
Korea Technology Finance Corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Fire Industry Technology Institute to expand financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises in the fire industry, Kibo announced Wednesday.
The two organizations signed the MOU — titled "Business Agreement for Strengthening the Foundation of the Fire Industry Ecosystem" — on Tuesday at Kibo's Human Resources Development Institute in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
Under the agreement, the Korea Fire Industry Technology Institute will identify and recommend outstanding companies in the fire industry sector to Kibo, which will then provide technology guarantees to those recommended firms.
Kibo plans to add companies with superior fire safety technology to the existing pool of beneficiaries under its Safety Infrastructure Guarantee program, offering preferential guarantee ratios and reduced guarantee fees.
Eligible companies include those that have received type approval, performance certification or KFI certification from the Korea Fire Industry Technology Institute for fire-fighting equipment, as well as firms certified for hazardous materials products, fire-fighting equipment and flame-retardant performance testing.
"We will leverage the institute's expertise and Kibo's technology finance capabilities to support the management stability and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the fire industry," Kibo Chairman Kwon Hyung-taek said.
