Applications open Nov. 16–18
Dongducheon will accept applications from Nov. 16 to 18 for its "2027 Phase 1 Public Works Program," aimed at supporting low-income residents and other employment-vulnerable groups through job opportunities and income stabilization.
The program will provide temporary public-sector jobs to residents who face difficulty finding work, supplementing their income and expanding access to employment. A total of 80 participants will be selected.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and registered as Dongducheon residents as of the program's start date. Household income must fall at or below 70 percent of the median income standard, and household assets — including housing and land — must not exceed 400 million won ($298,000).
Those wishing to apply should bring a government-issued ID and a job-seeking registration certificate to the community administrative welfare center covering their registered address. The city will conduct an eligibility review, including income and asset verification, before selecting final participants.
The program runs from Jan. 4 to April 23, 2027 — roughly four months. Selected participants will be assigned to a range of roles, including public building maintenance, traditional cultural heritage support and library operations. Working hours are five hours per day, and the hourly wage is 10,700 won.
The head of the city's jobs and economy division said the program is expected to help employment-vulnerable residents stabilize their livelihoods and prepare for re-entry into the workforce, urging interested residents to check the application period and required documents and submit their applications before the deadline.
For more information, residents may contact the Job Center team within Dongducheon City Hall's jobs and economy division.
