The festival runs Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., offering hands-on access to cutting-edge technology and local education resources under one roof — 44 booths in all, covering 27 future-career experiences in AI and robotics and 17 community learning programs.
Seoul's Seongdong-gu will host the "Seongdong Future Careers Experience & Community Learning Festival" at the Seongdong AI and Future Technology Experience Center on Saturday, the district announced.
The festival is designed to bring together hands-on career experiences using cutting-edge technology and distinctive local learning programs in a single venue. Organized jointly by the Seongdong AI and Future Technology Experience Center and community learning sites across the district, the event will feature 44 experience booths and a range of performance programs.
At the Seongdong AI and Future Technology Experience Center (327 Salgoji-gil), a "Future Careers Festival" themed around exploring tomorrow's professions will take center stage. Visitors can engage directly with AI, robotics and other emerging technologies to get a firsthand look at a rapidly changing job landscape.
The Future Careers Experience Play Zone will run 27 programs — an AI character studio, a robot soccer battle zone, a drone mission station and a VR cardiopulmonary resuscitation simulation, among others. On top of that, three rounds of "Robot Showtime" and a magic show incorporating future technology will give visitors additional spectacles to enjoy.
Next door at Jeongwanwon Children's Park, the "Community Learning Festival" will showcase the breadth of learning resources available across the neighborhood. Community learning institutions from throughout Seongdong-gu will participate, running 17 programs that include global cultural experiences and nature-based play. Alongside those, the whole family can enjoy quiz shows, circus performances and bubble shows.
The festival runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is open to all Seongdong-gu residents, including children and parents. No advance registration is required — visitors simply pay an entry fee on-site, receive a wristband and gain free access to all booths at both festivals.
"I hope this becomes an opportunity for children to discover their dreams and potential by experiencing future technology and community learning together," Seongdong-gu District Mayor Yoo Bo-hwa said. "We will continue to expand hands-on education opportunities that bring schools and communities together, building a city where every generation can learn and grow."
