An Army noncommissioned officer has died at a forward base in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province.

The Army said Monday that a staff sergeant was found unconscious with traumatic injuries at a forward base in Cheorwon that morning and was later pronounced dead.

"Military and civilian investigative authorities are currently looking into the exact cause and circumstances of the incident," the Army added.
