The Dalseong Welfare Foundation held its 18th anniversary staff workshop at Biseulsan Youth Hostel on Friday and Saturday, with about 200 employees in attendance.

The workshop was held under the slogan "A Shining Happy Life Through Warm Welfare Companionship in Dalseong."

The event was organized to recognize the dedication of frontline welfare workers and to help staff relieve work-related stress and strengthen communication among colleagues.

The first day opened with a musical gala performance marking the foundation's anniversary, followed by a commemorative video screening, commendations for 19 outstanding employees, and awards for three facilities recognized for excellence in ESG — environmental, social and governance — practices.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to corporate donors and volunteers who have led community giving and service efforts.

Isupetasys and DS Metal, which have each donated more than 100 million won ($74,900) for years, and Yang Jeong-suk, head of the Love Laundry volunteer group at the Dalseong-gun Volunteer Center, received the honors.

A side program called "Postcards from the Heart" also drew a warm response, giving employees a chance to share messages of gratitude and encouragement they had not previously had the opportunity to express.

The workshop portion featured a special lecture on ESG management by Choi Byeong-cheol, president of the Korea Career Creation and Development Institute. Participants shared perspectives on sustainable welfare management and the foundation's future vision.

Additional programs included intergenerational communication activities, stretching sessions and a traditional liquor-making experience.

Dalseong-gun County Mayor Choi Jae-hun said he was deeply grateful to the staff who had worked quietly and tirelessly in the field, as well as to the donors who had practiced generosity. "We will spare no support in improving working conditions for our staff and establishing a sustainable Dalseong-style welfare model," Choi said.
