The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) held the third session of its "2026 Tenant Company Capacity-Building Training" program Friday at a conference room in the Yeongcheon Donam Joint Utilization Center, with about 30 executives, employees and officials from tenant companies in attendance.

The session was the final advanced course of the year, following earlier sessions in April on Excel data automation and equipment failure analysis, and in July on R&D project planning and research data management.

Organized by DGFEZ and run by the North Gyeongsang Automotive Embedded Research Institute, the session focused on the theme of "Transforming Manufacturing Sites with AX Using Claude."

Kang Sung-hee, chief of Rangjam AI Education Research Institute, led the session with a hands-on curriculum built around participants' personal laptops.

The core content covered practical AI applications for manufacturing companies, including organizing and analyzing quality and voice-of-customer data and linking the findings to management decision reports.

Hands-on exercises drew strong interest from participants, covering comparisons of major AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini, corporate data security principles, and Excel VBA task automation using Claude — all immediately applicable on the manufacturing floor.

DGFEZ Director General Jeong Hae-yong said the authority would "continue to identify and support field-tailored professional education programs so that tenant companies can build global competitiveness in the era of digital transformation."
