Mungyeong City in North Gyeongsang Province jointly operated an education development zone promotional booth with Mungyeong University at the 2026 Mungyeong Future Education Festival on Thursday.

The booth was set up to share the key achievements of the education development zone project — a joint initiative between Mungyeong City and Mungyeong University — with the local community, and to give students and parents a chance to experience the value of future education through hands-on activities.

The booth centered on a drone simulator experience and a children's park golf activity, designed to let students engage with advanced technology and sports in an accessible and enjoyable way.

At the drone simulator station, participants learned the principles of drone operation through virtual flight, while the park golf station invited visitors to try their hand at putting.

A dedicated section of the booth introduced locally tailored education programs run by Mungyeong City and Mungyeong University, including initiatives to develop future talent in the AI and digital transformation field and a children's park golf school.

Mungyeong Mayor Kim Hak-hong said the city would continue working with Mungyeong University and other local educational institutions to develop diverse programs that reflect the region's strengths. "We will do our utmost to create an educational environment where children can learn and grow right here in their own community," Kim said.
