The nursing department of Daegu Haany University held its 31st Nightingale pledge ceremony Friday at the university's Building 6 auditorium in Gyeongsan, with 104 student nurses in attendance.
The ceremony featured a candle-lighting ritual, the Nightingale pledge, congratulatory remarks, and performances by current students and alumni.
The 104 students who took the pledge reaffirmed their commitment, through the candle-lighting ritual, to grow into professional nurses dedicated to respecting life, caring for patients in pain, and upholding their responsibilities toward the health and well-being of humanity.
Vice President Byeon Jun-seok offered congratulations in his address. "I extend my congratulations to all 104 who took the pledge today," Byeon said. "No matter what medical scene you find yourself in, I hope you will carry today's commitment with you and grow into nurses who combine a warm heart with professional competence."
