Damyang-gun announced Thursday that it won the top prize in the basic local government category at the 16th Korea SNS Awards, marking four consecutive years of recognition.
The Korea SNS Awards, hosted by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, evaluates public institutions and local governments on their use of SNS platforms, the quality of their promotional content, and their level of engagement with the public.
Damyang-gun has used Naver Blog, Instagram and YouTube to share timely updates on local government affairs, while promoting the area's scenic landscapes, tourism destinations, local food and hands-on activities under the theme "Healing City Damyang."
Judges particularly praised the county's efforts to capture hidden local gems and community stories through photos and short-form videos, as well as promotional content that highlighted the region's distinct character and conveyed the relaxed, restorative appeal of life in Damyang.
"This award is the fruit of our consistent efforts to share Damyang's charm and communicate with residents," Damyang-gun County Chief Park Jong-won said. "We will continue to build on that communication and spread Damyang's appeal nationwide through fresh, creative promotions that capture the value of 'Healing City Damyang.'"
