HS Hwaseong joined the Korean Red Cross Daegu chapter Wednesday to hold a free meal service event at Duryu Park's Seongdangmot area in Daegu.

About 50 volunteers and employees from HS Hwaseong, along with Red Cross volunteers from the Seo-gu chapter, served lunch to more than 1,000 vulnerable residents in the area.

In consideration of the cooler weather, organizers provided warm radish soup and dessert. HS Hwaseong covered the full cost of the meals.

The event is part of a recurring community service program that HS Hwaseong and the Hwaseong Scholarship and Culture Foundation have run every second half of the year since signing a social contribution partnership with the Korean Red Cross in 2008.

In the first half of each year, the company also provides meals to vulnerable residents through a separate dosirak delivery service, maintaining two rounds of food-sharing annually.

"We will continue to faithfully fulfill our corporate social responsibility and contribute to the sustainable development of our local community," said Choi Hyeok, a director at HS Hwaseong.
