Daegu Haany University's Student Counseling Center has launched an AI-based mental wellness program aimed at improving the psychological health of enrolled students.
According to the university, the program is designed to help students reflect on their emotions in daily life and take a proactive approach to managing emotional difficulties.
Participants keep a daily emotion journal for 21 days and explore their concerns and feelings through conversations with an AI chatbot.
The service is available anytime and anywhere, allowing students to work through worries they might otherwise find difficult to share with those around them.
An AI-generated emotional report is provided once a week — three times in total — to help participants track changes in their emotional state and better understand their emotional patterns.
Upon completing the program, participants receive a comprehensive report based on their 21-day journal entries and AI analysis, offering a review of their emotional well-being along with practical steps for maintaining a positive mindset.
"We will continue to strengthen our tailored psychological support services so that students can manage their own mental health and, when needed, access professional counseling," said Lee Su-yeon, director of the Student Counseling Center.
