Daegu's Dong-gu announced Thursday that the 25th Palgongsan Fall Foliage Festival will run for three days from Friday through Sunday at the Gatbawi district plaza on Palgongsan.
Organized by the Palgongsan Gatbawi Merchants' Association, this year's festival is themed around "wish fulfillment."
The event is designed to let local residents and tourists enjoy the mountain's autumn foliage alongside a range of programs, including a wish-walking trail to Gatbawi, a tofu-sharing event, a wish-themed song contest and celebratory performances.
The Palgongsan Fall Foliage Festival alternates each year between the mountain's two signature areas, Donghwa and Gatbawi, and has established itself as a landmark local festival even after Palgongsan was elevated to national park status.
Dong-gu District Mayor Woo Seong-jin said he hoped visitors would "find rest and happiness for both body and mind amid the vibrant autumn colors and beautiful nature of Palgongsan."
