Rating used by construction companies to vet subcontractors, bidders
Firm also received top SH1 safety rating from e-Credible in March
Hyundai Elevator announced Thursday that it received an SA1 rating — the highest possible grade — in the construction safety management assessment conducted by corporate evaluation firm Nice D&B.
The construction safety management assessment serves as a benchmark for evaluating a subcontractor's occupational health and safety capabilities when construction companies register partners or screen bidders. It provides a comprehensive diagnosis of a company's safety management capacity, reflecting the specific characteristics of the construction industry.
The rating scale runs from SA1 to SA7 across seven tiers. Hyundai Elevator said an SA1 designation indicates the highest level of capability in establishing and operating an occupational health and safety management system.
The company also received an SH1 rating — the top grade in the occupational health and safety assessment by e-Credible, another corporate evaluation firm — in March. Hyundai Elevator said it expects the top marks from two agencies with different evaluation criteria to serve as an objective indicator of trust for project owners and customers.
"Safety is the top priority in corporate management and a fundamental principle that cannot be compromised," a Hyundai Elevator official said. "We will continue to strengthen our systematic safety management system to build a mutually beneficial safety culture where both employees and partner companies can work with peace of mind."
Hyundai Elevator has also been stepping up field-oriented industrial accident prevention efforts for employees and partner companies. The company held a safety pledge ceremony at its Smart Campus in Chungju in March, sharing accident prevention measures and safety management standards. Starting in April, it launched a large and small business cooperation program to advance a joint safety management framework with partner companies and related organizations. The company plans to expand preventive on-site inspections and tailored safety management going forward.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Elevator has been carrying out a range of corporate social responsibility activities, including a recent biodiversity observation, documentation and environmental cleanup event on Binaeseum island in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, with employee participation.
