Samsung SDI posted an operating profit of 407.8 billion won ($308 million) in the third quarter on a consolidated basis, swinging to a profit from a loss in the same period a year earlier, the company disclosed Thursday.

Revenue for the same period rose 52.6 percent to 4.69 trillion won.

Net profit for the period came to 342.2 billion won, a preliminary figure representing a 5,903.5 percent increase.
