AI adoption strategies shared with suppliers
AI education for partner staff to expand in phases
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced Thursday that it co-hosted a special lecture on AI transformation and digital transformation for CEOs of aerospace small and midsize enterprises on Wednesday, together with Yeonam University of Technology and Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL).
Held at the Future Hall of Yeonam University of Technology, the event drew about 60 attendees, including KAI Win-Win Cooperation Division Senior Managing Director Yang Hong-seok, Yeonam University of Technology President Ahn Seung-kwon, KTL Center Director Lee Eui-jong, Manufacturing Subcommittee Chair Kim Tae-hyung, who is also CEO of Mirae Aviation, and representatives from 42 partner companies.
KAI organized the lecture to help small and midsize suppliers address recruitment difficulties and productivity challenges while strengthening their competitiveness in contract bidding. The event was designed to share how AI- and digitally driven manufacturing environments are changing and to provide practical guidance on adoption.
President Ahn delivered a talk titled "How should companies evolve in the AI era?" covering how advances in AI technology are reshaping corporate management and competitiveness. Kim Beom-jun, director of the university's AI and DX Center, then presented "AI transforming the workplace: adoption cases and application strategies," introducing real-world examples and concrete approaches to deploying AI in business operations.
Following the CEO-focused lecture, KAI plans to expand AI training for partner company staff in phases. Starting in November, the company will offer AI skills courses for frontline workers at supplier firms, and from 2027 it plans to run a regular curriculum of customized, hands-on AI training tailored to conditions at each partner's workplace.
"Many of our partner companies recognize the need to adopt AI, but struggle to apply it in actual operations," Senior Managing Director Yang said. "We will raise the competitiveness of our partners and build a sustainable, mutually beneficial ecosystem through continuous education and practical support for AI manufacturing infrastructure."
