District mayor attends small business owners' community gathering
Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon said Wednesday that the district would revive the neighborhood commercial districts that form the backbone of the local economy through a range of economic revitalization policies, including the gradual expansion of designated neighborhood shopping streets.
Jin made the remarks at a small business owners' community gathering held at Banghwa Neighborhood Park. "Small business owners are the pillars that firmly support neighborhood commercial districts and the driving force behind the local economy," Jin said.
Jin added that the launch of the Gangseo-gu Small Business Owners' Association was a meaningful milestone, as it would allow individual small business owners to unite their voices and stand in solidarity. "I will be a district mayor who listens closely to small business owners and is always by their side," Jin said.
The event, organized by the Gangseo-gu Small Business Owners' Association, drew about 200 local merchants, including representatives from neighborhood shopping streets and traditional market merchants' associations.
The program proceeded in order with congratulatory remarks from guests of honor, a commendation ceremony for those who contributed to local economic revitalization, and a small business owners' fellowship session.
