Pact aims to expand global promotion and exchange
Pocheon signed a memorandum of understanding with the World Korean Press Association on Wednesday at the city hall conference room to strengthen global promotion and cultural exchange.
The agreement is designed to leverage the worldwide network of Korean-language media to publicize Pocheon's key policies, tourism resources and cultural assets abroad, while expanding ties with overseas Korean communities and mainstream societies in their respective countries.
The signing ceremony was attended by Pocheon Mayor Baek Young-hyun and World Korean Press Association President Kim Myeong-gon, along with journalists who participated in a symposium jointly organized by the association and the Overseas Korean Newspaper and Broadcasting Journalists Association.
Under the MOU, the World Korean Press Association will use its official media channels and global member network to publicize Pocheon's policies, tourism and cultural news overseas, and will cooperate in reporting activities aimed at raising the city's international profile.
Pocheon plans to provide relevant information and reporting support to member outlets of the association, facilitating coverage of the city's major projects and tourism and cultural resources, while continuing to collaborate on global promotion and exchange initiatives.
"Partnering with Korean journalists around the world is a meaningful opportunity to share Pocheon's diverse appeal and development potential with international audiences," Mayor Baek said. "Through this agreement, we will work to bring Pocheon's outstanding tourism and cultural resources and key policies to the world's attention, and steadily expand our international exchanges and cooperation."
