GS Retail announced Wednesday it had sent more than 2,000 emergency relief items — including 800 bottles of water and 1,200 emergency food packs — to residents of Guryong Village in Gaepodong displaced by a fire.

The relief package consists of bottled water, cup noodles and energy bars. GS Retail plans to deliver the supplies to about 80 affected residents through the Korean Red Cross and is reviewing additional support after assessing the damage and identifying further needs.

GS Retail has provided emergency relief supplies, including daily necessities, to disaster-hit communities since 2005, responding to typhoons, heavy rains, wildfires and earthquakes. "Drawing on our nationwide infrastructure, we will continue to deliver swift assistance and serve as a safety net for local communities," said Park Kyeong-rang, head of GS Retail's ESG division.
