The Democratic Party of Korea announced Wednesday that it has appointed Cho Sang-ho, a former policy aide to the Ministry of Justice, as the new head of its Minju Pachulso — an internal party body set up to counter false and manipulated information.

Senior Democratic Party Spokesperson Park Seong-jun shared the appointments and other decisions made at a supreme council meeting held at the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Cho also previously served as a defense attorney for President Lee Jae Myung in the SBW North Korea remittance case.

Park also announced that Kwon No-gap, chairman of the Kim Dae-jung Foundation, has been named head of the central party's fundraising committee.

Former JTBC anchor Ahn Tae-hun and Democratic Party university student committee chairman Bong Geon-woo were appointed as full-time deputy spokespersons.

Named as part-time deputy spokespersons were former Jeju Island lawmaker Kim Gyeong-mi, former Seongnam city council member Kim Yun-hwan, former Seoul Metropolitan Government council member Lee Yong-gyun, current National Unification Advisory Council member Im Yong-sin, former Gyeonggi Province party university student committee chairman Hwang Dong-jun, and Kim Seung-bong, secretary-general of the K-Democracy Globalization Research Foundation.
