CEO shares future vision with employees at anniversary ceremony
Company operates about 2,500 stores in more than 70 countries
Founder adopts CEO as adult son, transfers shares in succession plan
Ceragem CEO Lee Kyung-soo pledged to achieve a new milestone in the global healthcare market as the company marked its 28th anniversary.
Ceragem held a ceremony Tuesday at Ceragem Seoul Town in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to mark the occasion. Lee hosted a town hall meeting that day, looking back on the company's 28 years of growth and sharing its management direction and future vision with employees.
"Today's Ceragem has been made possible by all the employees who have quietly dedicated themselves across various fields — including office work, research, production and service — both at home and abroad over the past 28 years, and by the customers who have always cheered us on," Lee said. "Let us move forward together toward the future without wavering, to fulfill our mid- to long-term goals on the foundation of differentiated technology and a customer-centered wellness experience."
Ceragem recently drew attention after disclosing that founder and Chairman Lee Hwan-sung had adopted the CEO as his adult son and begun transferring shares to him. The chairman adopted Lee Kyung-soo last year and completed the first phase of succession this year by transferring 10 percent of all issued Ceragem shares to him. Lee Kyung-soo joined the company as a new hire in 2003 and has built up his management capabilities over more than 20 years. Ceragem said it plans to pursue a mid- to long-term share succession going forward.
The anniversary ceremony was broadcast live via video so that service staff nationwide and employees in research, production and overseas subsidiaries could also take part. A large media wall bearing the names and hire dates of all current employees was installed at the venue. Congratulatory video messages from overseas subsidiary staff and global customers were also screened. The company recognized 136 employees with five or more years of service, honoring those who have contributed to its growth since its founding.
Founded in 1998, Ceragem has expanded its business around spinal-care medical devices. It now operates about 2,500 stores in more than 70 countries. More recently, the company has put forward "AI Wellness Home" — a vision of supporting everyday health management throughout the living space — as its future business direction, and is developing related products and services.
The company is advancing its product lineup across seven health management categories — spine, exercise, rest, beauty, circulation, energy and mental wellness — while also pursuing the development of healthcare solutions that integrate AI and the Internet of Things.
To mark its 28th anniversary, Ceragem is also expanding free warranty benefits for customers. Through the end of next month, customers who purchase the Master V Collection, including the Master V11, will receive five years of free after-sales service — the same benefit offered to subscription customers.
