South Korea's largest power and energy industry expo
Held at Gwangju's Kim Dae-jung Convention Center from Nov. 4 to 6
AI data center solutions also on display
LS Electric announced Wednesday it will participate in the Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology (Bixpo) 2026, South Korea's largest power and energy industry expo, to be held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju from Nov. 4 to 6.
The company will set up a 108-square-meter exhibition space spanning 12 booths under the theme "Intelligent Grid, Powering the AI Era."
The exhibition will feature solutions for building next-generation power grids, including HVDC, AI data center solutions, E-STATCOM (a static var compensator) and K-EMS (an energy management system).
Particular emphasis will be placed on HVDC solutions, widely regarded as a core technology for next-generation power grids. HVDC converts large volumes of electricity generated at power plants into direct current for long-distance transmission.
LS Electric is the only domestic company with hands-on experience executing HVDC projects. The company has built up core technical expertise and project capabilities through its work on the Bukdangjin–Godeok HVDC converter facility and its participation in the Donghae coast–Greater Seoul HVDC project.
The "AI Data Center Zone" will offer visitors a hands-on experience tracing the evolution of power infrastructure, from conventional AC-based power supply systems to next-generation 800-volt DC distribution.
The "E-STATCOM Zone," dedicated to grid stabilization technology, will present a next-generation power solution capable of maintaining stable voltage even under sharp load fluctuations. The "Smart Grid Zone" will highlight the localization experience and technical reliability behind K-EMS, a large-scale grid operating system.
"Building on our status as the only domestic company with current-source HVDC project experience and the technical capabilities we have accumulated, we will strengthen the competitiveness of homegrown HVDC technology and play a central role in advancing national power infrastructure, including the West Coast energy highway," an LS Electric official said.
