A city tour bus traveling at low speed collided with a roadside structure — a former ticket booth — on Tohamsan in Jinhyeon-dong, Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, at around 3:14 p.m. Tuesday.

Of the 39 passengers on board, two suffered serious injuries and 22 sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospitals.

The fire department activated a mass-casualty program after the accident, setting up a temporary medical station at the scene to triage and treat the injured.

The bus was traveling from Seokguram Grotto toward Bulguksa Temple at the time of the collision.

Police and fire department authorities are investigating the driver and others to determine the exact cause of the accident.
