Two-day sale at Ulju-gun office Thursday and Friday
Five cuts offered at 20% discount
Ulju-gun in Ulsan will hold a discounted Hanwoo beef sale in front of the Ulju-gun office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, ahead of Korea Hanwoo Day on Nov. 1.
Korea Hanwoo Day was established in 2008 by the Korea Hanwoo Association to promote the quality of Hanwoo beef, boost consumption and increase income for Hanwoo farmers. Nov. 1 was chosen because the date — with the numeral 1 appearing three times — symbolizes Hanwoo being "the best, the finest, the top" in taste and quality.
Organized by the Ulsan chapter of the Korea Hanwoo Association, the event will offer five cuts, including galbi, at a 20% discount. Shoppers who spend 50,000 won ($38) or more will receive Hanwoo beef jerky, while those spending 200,000 won or more will receive 20,000 won worth of Hanwoo — either soup cuts or bulgogi cuts.
