Nomination committee cites expertise and insight into the financial industry
Citibank Korea announced Tuesday that it has appointed Kim Kyung-ho, the bank's current head of corporate banking, as its new chief executive.
Kim joined Citibank's Seoul branch in 2001 as a corporate credit analyst and went on to serve as head of large corporate banking and head of the financial institutions division at Citibank Korea. He is widely regarded within the bank as a corporate banking specialist.
He has served as deputy president of the corporate banking group since 2021 and was recommended as the final candidate for the top post on Sept. 22.
Citibank Korea's executive nomination committee recommended Kim as the final candidate last month, saying it had comprehensively considered "his medium- to long-term management vision and strategy, internal and external communication and leadership capabilities, management competence and expertise, and insight into the financial industry."
Kim's term will run for three years.
