Hanmi Pharm surpassed 1.2 trillion won ($907 million) in cumulative sales through the first three quarters of 2026, driven by steady growth in its prescription drug business.

The company disclosed Tuesday that its preliminary consolidated earnings for the third quarter of 2026 showed sales of 377.4 billion won, operating profit of 37.8 billion won and net profit of 14 billion won.

Sales rose 4.2 percent from the same period a year earlier. Operating profit and net profit, however, fell 31.3 percent and 69.1 percent, respectively. Hanmi said the declines reflected a high base effect from the one-time recognition of an upfront payment for the sonepeglutatide technology transfer deal booked in the previous quarter.

The company invested 62.3 billion won in research and development during the quarter — equivalent to 16.5 percent of sales — focusing on building out its future drug pipeline.

Nine-month cumulative sales reached 1.24 trillion won, while cumulative outpatient prescription sales on a Ubist basis came to 783.5 billion won. Hanmi said it is on track to retain the title of No. 1 in domestic outpatient prescription sales for a ninth consecutive year, a streak dating to 2018.

Among key products, Rosuzet — a combination drug for dyslipidemia — led top-line growth with prescription sales of 65.2 billion won, up 10.6 percent year on year. Amozeltan Family, a hypertension treatment, posted sales of 38.2 billion won, while Esomezol Family, for gastroesophageal reflux disease, recorded 15.2 billion won.

The company is developing several next-generation flagship products, including Amoprel, the world's first low-dose triple-combination antihypertensive; Obodense, an osteoporosis treatment; Rolontis, for neutropenia; and Hyalumini, for dry eye disease.

Overseas operations and key affiliates continued to defend earnings and stage recoveries. Beijing Hanmi, the company's China subsidiary, posted third-quarter sales of 79.3 billion won, showing a gradual recovery through strategic bidding under China's volume-based procurement regime and expanded supply. Hanmi said it has suspended new transactions with distributors flagged for payment issues until outstanding receivables are collected, and has strengthened its internal control systems.

Hanmi Fine Chemical, the active pharmaceutical ingredient affiliate, posted sales of 22.8 billion won — up 32.6 percent year on year — on the back of expanded contract development and manufacturing orders for high-margin products, turning profitable at both the operating and net profit levels.

Hanmi Pharm currently runs more than 30 innovative drug pipeline programs across obesity and metabolic disease, rare diseases and oncology. The company said it will continue to build a full-cycle, personalized obesity treatment portfolio through its H.O.P. Project, which is developing Effe — South Korea's first independently developed GLP-1 obesity drug — alongside a series of next-generation obesity treatment pipeline candidates.

"As a leading R&D-driven pharmaceutical company in Korea, we are strengthening our core competitiveness and sustaining future innovation," a Hanmi Pharm official said. "We will concentrate our capabilities on new drug research and development and enhance shareholder value to maintain sustainable growth."
