Daegu Haany University and the Korean Policy Association jointly hosted the "2026 Korean Policy Association Planning Seminar" at the National Arboretum of Sejong, the university announced Tuesday.
Held under the theme "Enactment of the Cosmetics Industry Promotion Act and a New Direction for Korea's K-Beauty National Strategy," the seminar drew about 50 participants from universities, government agencies, local authorities and the cosmetics industry.
The event opened with remarks by Korean Policy Association President Lee Seok-hwan and a congratulatory address by Daegu Haany University Vice President for Industry-Academia Affairs Park Su-jin. Korea Health Industry Development Institute Team Leader Kim Su-beom then delivered the keynote presentation on the significance of enacting the Cosmetics Industry Promotion Act and the direction of Korea's K-beauty national strategy.
A panel discussion moderated by Daegu Haany University Professor Jang Yeong-a brought together representatives from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, North Gyeongsang Province, the Korea Cosmetic Association, Amorepacific, Sookmyung Women's University and Dongshin University. Participants examined policy challenges arising from the law's implementation, how the industry should respond on the ground, and strategies for the sustainable growth of K-beauty.
"I hope the policy challenges discussed at this seminar will serve as a meaningful opportunity to build a sustainable ecosystem for the K-beauty industry and strengthen its global competitiveness," Park said.
