Seoul's Nowon-gu is offering residents a range of autumn leisure spots — streamside flower paths, urban foliage trails and nighttime light sculpture exhibitions — to bring rest and seasonal scenery into everyday life.

From flower paths along Uicheon, Jungnangcheon and Danghyeoncheon streams to foliage walks scattered across the district and light sculpture installations brightening autumn nights along Danghyeoncheon, the district is filled with colorful fall scenery. The district government manages seasonal attractions and pedestrian environments so residents can enjoy nature and relaxation close to home.

An autumn chrysanthemum exhibition runs through Nov. 30 along the stretch of Uicheon Stream between Byeorumalgyo Bridge and Wolgye 2-gyo Bridge. The display spans 200 square meters over a 50-meter stretch, featuring yellow, red and pink chrysanthemums alongside purple asters and pampas grass. Photo zones with cat, duck, ballerina and heart-shaped sculptures are set up among the flowers.

The Uicheon flower path forms part of a broader walking route that takes in nearby forest trails and rest areas. About 500 meters upstream from Wolgye 2-gyo Bridge sits the waterside cafe Uimaru, and roughly 300 meters beyond that lies the Choan Mountain hydrangea garden. Visitors can stroll from the flower path and waterside rest area all the way to the hydrangea garden. On nearby Yeongchuksan, a barrier-free forest trail leads to a summit observation deck with views of the surrounding landscape.

Autumn flowers can also be enjoyed along Jungnangcheon and Danghyeoncheon streams. The district has sown cosmos and zinnias across a total of 14,900 square meters — four sites along Jungnangcheon and five along Danghyeoncheon. Chrysanthemums, globe amaranths and asters have been planted at Dumulmaru Plaza and the Danghyeoncheon Charm Garden, adding seasonal color. At Nowon Dumulmaru, where the two streams meet, visitors can take in autumn blooms and riverside scenery together.

Along Danghyeoncheon, the days bring flower paths and the evenings bring light art. The "2026 Nowon Moonlight Walk: A New Moon" runs through Nov. 8 along a 1.3-kilometer stretch from Danghyeon 1-gyo Bridge to Yangji Bridge, open daily from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Light sculptures installed along the stream and around the Moonlight Bridge near the waterside cafe Danghyeonmaru add to the nighttime walk experience.

The stretch of Danghyeoncheon between Danghyeon 1-gyo and Danghyeon 2-gyo bridges offers a golden autumn scene as ginkgo trees turn color. The route was selected last year as one of Seoul's 110 recommended autumn foliage paths. Visitors can enjoy streamside flowers and fall foliage by day, then take in the light sculptures of the Nowon Moonlight Walk after dark.

The section of Hangul Stele Road between Yangji Neighborhood Park and Golmaeul Neighborhood Park was also named to the same list last year, offering autumn views along ginkgo and dogwood trees. Nearby, the "Hyu Garden" on the green corridor linking Junggye and Deungnamu parks welcomes walkers with purple asters and rabbit sculptures beneath pine trees.

Autumn atmosphere can also be found along the "Streets Worth Walking" created near the Dobong Driver's License Examination Office on Dongil-ro and around Sanggye Hanshin Apartments in Sanggye 5-dong. At Sanggye Neighborhood Park, a tree-lined path of maples and London plane trees invites leisurely strolls, and a small forest library offers a place to read and rest.

The district is also managing street trees to reduce autumn inconveniences for pedestrians. To cut down on the odor and slipping hazard caused by fallen ginkgo fruit, crews began harvesting berries from 1,341 female ginkgo trees in mid-September, before the fruit began dropping in earnest. The district is focusing on high-traffic areas near schools and subway stations, with ongoing inspections and additional collection and cleanup work continuing.

Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o said residents can enjoy the beauty of autumn by walking flower paths and foliage trails right near their homes. "We will continue to provide a variety of seasonal attractions and maintain a comfortable walking environment so that residents can feel the change of seasons and take pleasant strolls in their daily lives," he said.
