Jungnang-gu will jointly host the "2026 8th Jungnang Youth Dream Festival" and the "Jungnang Education Cooperation Fair" at Yongma Waterfall Park on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The event brings together local schools, youth clubs and youth-related organizations to strengthen young people's capacity for self-governance and to share the achievements of the Jungnang Education Cooperation Special Zone with residents. Now in its eighth year, the combined festival and fair is expected to draw about 2,000 attendees.

The Jungnang Youth Dream Festival is a self-governed event planned and run entirely by young people. This year, a task force of 12 Jungnang-gu youth took the lead on every stage of planning and operations under the theme "Career Quest — My Own Dream, My Own Future."

A total of 35 hands-on booths will be set up at the venue, offering activities that include an AI photo booth for four-cut portrait prints, bottle-cap keycap making, a magic experience and magic performance, Shrinky Dinks keyring making and Braille business card making. This year, youth task force members will also personally explain Holland personality types and recommend booths suited to each participant's profile.

The booths will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and a performance stage will feature 22 youth teams presenting cheerleading, band sets and dance routines.

The accompanying Jungnang Education Cooperation Fair will showcase the activities and achievements of the district's education cooperation zone — a joint effort by civic, government and academic partners — through exhibitions and hands-on experiences. Set up near the former Chaekkkaebi Library, the fair will operate 23 hands-on booths and five exhibition booths, with activities including dancheong pattern coloring, pop-up book making, AI webtoon creation, VR experiences and balloon art.

Jungnang-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said he hopes the festival — planned by the youth themselves — will serve as a joyful stage where young people can freely express their dreams and talents and share their interests with one another. "We will continue to support schools and the community in working together through the Jungnang Education Cooperation Special Zone, so that children and young people can nurture their dreams and grow up healthy," Ryu said.
